Feel free to disagree with what I have to say this is just my personal opinion on the matter.
----
The first post was not about completely dismissing using photo referencing for learning. But it is what most young artist use to get started, since its a little less frustrating then trying to start out doing realistic anatomy. Referencing other artist work helps them get their feet wet in a since and just have fun with drawing.

And when I say young artist I mean young in skill level, you can be a artist starting out at the age of 17 doesn't mean you should be forced to use realistic anatomy just yet or ever, if your just doing it for fun then you don't have to worry about it as much. But if you post it online, you will be judged depending how popular you are, so just be aware of that.

If you are seriously about your work, you should try to jump into real anatomy as soon as you feel comfortable with drawing freely without the aide of a visual toon reference

this site is great for helping you get a jump on learning that

Using referencing and  Highly referencing as learning tools is a great way to adopt style elements into your own work, but you shouldn't post highly referenced work, just use it to train your brain to do different style elements.

Some people say "Its wrong to use this technique and its stealing other artist hard work. "

But to me That's Art, We share, barrow and steal to developed our own style as we go, every artist has shared, barrow and stole from different styles, and ideas. Its what makes us artist.

as Picasso once said, "a good artist Copies a great artist Steals."
More info about what it means here-->

But that's just how I view it, I think no view is really right or wrong, art is up for interpretation after all and there's no real straight answer on this subject since its such a vast subject matter.

just please try to be nice to each other and be willing to give out what you your self have taken from others.
